Downloadable Kindle eBooks Now Available


Most eBooks in the McKinney Public Library's OverDrive catalog now offer the Kindle format in addition to EPUB and PDF options. Like other eBook formats, Kindle titles are available 24/7 and incur no late fees because they automatically expire at the end of the lending period.

The basic process to check out a Kindle eBook is:

1. Go to http://mckinney.lib.overdrive.com and search for a title showing Kindle Book format. Click Add to cart, then check it out.
2. On your “My Items Out” page, click the title’s Get for Kindle button.
3. The Amazon.com website then opens. Sign in with your Amazon.com account if you haven’t already.
4. Select a Kindle device or Kindle reading app. Then click Get library book. An active WiFi connection is required for wireless delivery.
5. On your device or app, the item is delivered to “Archived Items.”
